We produce responsible, resilient, independent critical thinkers and learners who act ethically and confidently in their personal, career and community lives.

We promote:

  • Personal wellbeing and resilience
  • A safe and caring learning environment
  • Trusting and respectful relationships
  • Growth towards independence
  • Diverse and inclusive curriculum
  • Access to learning anywhere anytime
  • Enhanced success through positive partnerships between staff, students, parents and our community.

Our school has a reputation for excellence in Academia, Creative Arts, Technical Applied Subjects, Vocational education, Agriculture, and PD/H/PE to name a few. We provide our students with high quality programs and learning pathways and provide access to a range of STEAM based curriculum initiatives.

Promoting High Levels of Intellectual Thinking

We provide excellent opportunities for our academically gifted students through a variety of accelerated programs and inter school competitions. We produce vibrant and extensive Arts Curriculum in Dance, Music, Drama, Visual Arts and Music. Our proactive school to work program offers flexible pathway options leading to University, TAFE/Colleges and employment.

Uniform - Our school has a Formal Uniform policy

Our school has a formal uniform policy, endorsed by the P&C and SRC. Students at Glen Innes High are required to always wear the dress code.

Student Behaviour

Glen Innes High School expects a high standard of classroom behaviour. We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment and/or violence. We take this approach to protect and support all students to learn, achieve and thrive.

Student Attendance

Students who attend regularly are more likely to be successful in their education. Reducing non-attendance is a priority. Using our learner management system “Sentral”, we monitor student attendance in all classes each day. We also follow up all unexplained or ongoing absences with families. We use a SMS messaging system to inform parents of students in Years 7-12 if an absence is unexplained.

Community Activity

The school has a very active Parents and Citizens Association, and our local community takes great pride in our school and the wide-ranging achievements of all our students.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our thriving school community here at Glen Innes High School. I know your stay will be a wonderful experience equipping you fully with all the skills and knowledge required to prepare your student for their future lives.
