Inquiry Centre

Curriculum

Wow! What a week in the Inquiry Centre. We hope you enjoyed coming along and watching our Christmas Concert! It was so much fun to see everyone there in their Christmas outfits and smiles! How amazing has it been to have a whole year where we have been able to enjoy so many fun activities and events?

In Literacy this week, students have been exploring Fairy Tales and Fables and using comprehension strategies to respond to different texts. In Writing, we made our own rice paper rolls which we used as inspiration to write a poem. While very messy, students had a wonderful time chopping and constructing their own delicious snack.

This week in Mathematics we have been looking at different problem solving strategies and how we can use these to solve problems efficiently. Some of the activities students have explored have included sorting coloured teddy bears into coloured houses– being careful to make sure no combinations repeat! Students have also explored how to describe 2D shapes to a partner to see if they could guess the shape.

Next week is Step Up Week where students will be in their 2023 classrooms from Tuesday to Friday. It will be a very exciting time as we meet our new classes and go to our new classrooms.

We hope you have a wonderful week!
