Year One/Two News

The Year That Was...

It is so hard to believe that it is almost the end of the year. All Year 1 and 2 students are to be congratulated for attending school all year without any periods of Remote Learning. It is a first for them! They have demonstrated great resilience and persistence throughout the year.

It continues to be a busy time in Year 1/2. As well as, learning in the classroom, students are also about to complete the very successful swimming program. Our movie excursion is next Monday. If you have not returned the permission form and payment, could you please do so as soon as possible? The National Transition Day is the next day, students will spend the morning in their anticipated 2023 class. We are also getting ready for the end of the year's Presentation Night (next Wednesday 14th). You may have heard your child(ren) singing a special Christmas song at home. We are getting very excited about our performances. Hopefully we will see as many families as possible attend.

The other important points to note are:

  • All Take Home Readers are to be returned to school by this Friday. This allows staff to prepare for 2023. Students are encouraged to access Reading Eggs or Wushka to continue their reading at home.
  • Borrowing from the library has ceased for the year. If your child(ren) has/ have any library books still at home can you please return them by the end of this week.
  • Reverse Advent Calendar - Thank you to all families who have brought in an item for our boxes. The last day for donations is Friday the 16th.

We would like to wish all our families a very happy Christmas and holiday. We have truly appreciated all the support you have given your child(ren) over 2023.
