Swimming Program

30th of November, 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th of December

We have delayed the start of our school swimming program by a couple of days in the hopes that the pool water will warm up over the next 5 or 6 days.  Fingers crossed!   We are now penciled in to begin on Wednesday the 30th of November with the aim to have 6 lessons for the students (30th November, 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th of December).  I will send reminders home the day prior to a lesson (via COMPASS) to help ensure students all come with their swim gear, ready to go, when needed.

The lessons will be held at the Mount Beauty Swimming Pool; students will walk over to the pool with their classroom teachers.  In preparation, please ensure that your son/daughter has bathers, a pair of googles and a rashie.  They will also need sunscreen, a towel and a pair of thongs.

The Victorian Curriculum includes swimming and water safety education to be taught as part of the Health and Physical Education learning area.  Our program will focus on building basic water safety awareness, knowledge and skills.

Help to get the Preps, 1/2s and 2/3s ready for swimming and over to the pool would be appreciated.  If you are able to assist Ellen, Anna or Kim, please contact them directly.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions in the meantime.
