Time Owed Procedures

A time owed occurs if one of the Embrace Rules is broken. The Behavior Matrix and the Major and Minor Behavior grid supports these Embrace rules.  Students will be asked to attend Time Owed in the Oasis Room in Break 2. Whilst in the Oasis Room members of staff will discuss what occurred and investigate fully the incident.

Students will be required to complete a form outlining their behaviour and feelings.  This form will be forwarded home via Compass.

Students may participate in a Restorative Circle with other students. A sample of the question prompts used in a Restorative Circle is included below.

Introducing Smudge

CSPS congratulates our four-legged friend 'Smudge' on becoming a fully qualified therapy dog during the summer school holidays. You may remember in October 2022, we congratulated Smudge on achieving his learner therapy dog certification. So, it's exciting to see that with lots of hard work, Smudge and his handler Ros can now support CSPS students with their wellbeing and engagement in learning in all areas of the school.

We also welcome Smudge and (Mrs Robinson or Ros) as CSPS staff members, working at the school every morning, as part of CSPS Canine Assisted Wellbeing Program. This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community as it has been shown that wellbeing dogs support psychological growth and increase social skills and self-esteem in children. All classes will be participating in activities such as induction and interaction with Smudge.  Some students will be selected to work with Smudge and Ros in small group situations.

* If your child/ren have any allergies and/or fears of interacting with dogs, please contact Karen Halket via email to discuss your circumstances so that interactions with Smudge can be appropriately managed.

Call out to any Dog Groomers within our school community - Due to the increased frequency of grooming Smudge is required to have to be at a standard suitable for student interactions, we are looking for donations of dog grooming services to help reduce this financial burden. Please let us know if you can help.

On behalf of everyone in the CSPS, we thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation and support of our Canine Assisted Wellbeing Program! Should you have any questions at this time, please feel free to contact Karen Halket via email.
