Dear Families,

Well, we are just about at the end of another school year? Where has the time gone? They do say time flies when you are having fun - so we must be having fun. I do know that I have had a wonderful year and am enjoying the wonderful St Joseph's School community.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for welcoming me into the community, for your support, hope, honest feedback and contributions. I look back at the 2022 school year with gratitude and forward to the 2023 school year with optimism and excitement.

Year Six 2022

We congratulate the following Year Six students who are graduating this evening:

Ash Bennett, Austin Cooper, Sam Gee, Arthur Hindle, Josh Kingsley, Ava McFayden, Layla Moore, Kurtis Treacey, Ellie Wills, Indi Cobain, Kye Kofoed, Denny Ley, Billy Lloyd, Scarlett Moore, Lucy Serong, Kobe Treeby, Riley Ward and Macey Wheler. We wish them every success as they embark on their secondary schooling.

We also say farewell and thank you to the following families who are finishing at St Joseph's School this year: Bennett, Cooper, Kingsley, McFayden, Treacey, Cobain, Ley, Lloyd, Serong, Wheeler, English, Byrne, Tsaglos and Hinkley.

We wish the Cobain (Mt Martha), Byrne (Mt Eliza), Tsaglos (Melbourne) and Hinkley (Singapore) families every happiness in their new homes and schools.

Last Day for 2022

Students will be finishing this Friday 16 December, at the usual time of 3:20pm. Students may wear free dress on the last day.

First Day 2023

School will resume for all students in 2023 on Monday 30 January. If you have any concerns or questions during the extended break, please email office@sjsorrento.catholic.edu.au as this will be checked regularly.

Each school day will commence at 8:55am and will finish at 3:20pm.

Thank you to Laura McGinness who has been volunteering here at St Joseph's for the past six years. As a staff member this year, she has supported staff completing a variety of tasks including organising second hand uniforms, assisting teachers in learning areas and helping at playgroup. No task was ever too big or small for Laura as she completed each task with a smile on her face.

We also thank Laura Dimogerondas and Prue Birch who are are both finishing in their present roles but will hopefully be joining us again shortly after some adventures. We appreciate all that they have given to staff and students this year. Both dedicated teachers treat their students as individuals and strive to ensure that they are all flourishing. We look forward to seeing you both back at St Joseph's shortly. Travel safely.

So much to look forward to next year but a well deserved holiday for everyone beforehand. I wish you all a Christmas Season full of joy, peace, hope and love. May the new year bring you all you hope for.
