Funds raised for the Lighthouse Competition!
Jacqui Goldenberg, Community Service Program Director
A big congratulations to staff members Steve Bustin, Joanne Low and Shauna Kiernan for completing The 26 on 16 June with smiles on their faces - running 1.6km every hour on the hour (right through the night) for 26 hours to complete a marathon and raise funds for the Lighthouse Foundation for youth. They demonstrated the true meaning of perseverance and commitment!
In the evening, 30 Year 12 students slept in the Sport Centre carpark to support and raise funds for Sleepout for a Cause. Students received insights from several of our charities: 300 Blankets about the outreach work they do with people sleeping rough on the streets as well as their Soul Kitchen meal program; the Lighthouse Foundation regarding youth homelessness; and the power of music from Choir of Hard Knocks.
Together, the two events have raised nearly $10,000 for the Lighthouse Foundation!
Thank you all for your ongoing support of our Community Service Program. Kilvington people are truly Humans of Purpose and Empathy.
