New McGregor House Captain

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Alistair Conrad has been appointed as the new McGregor House Captain.  Alistair fills the position vacated by  Zara Houchen who has left Trafalgar Primary School.

The panel responsible for appointing student leaders has revisited the process that was undertaken at the end of 2022, and after careful consideration of McGregor House candidates, have determined that Alistair was the most suitable applicant for this important role.

We are delighted to see Alistair jump straight into his work, supporting the McGregor House at the recent Swimming Sports on Friday. Alistair's enthusiasm and leadership qualities were on full display, and we are confident that he will excel in his role as House Captain.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Alistair on his appointment and wish him all the best in his new position. We are confident that he will make a positive impact on the school community and will lead McGregor House to great success in the coming year.

Swimming Program Underway at Trafalgar Primary School!

We are thrilled to announce that our swimming program is now underway at Trafalgar Primary School! Our aim is to give all of our students the opportunity to learn how to swim and to provide them with the skills and confidence they need to enjoy this important life skill.

The program is designed to cater to students of all levels, from those who are just starting to swim to those who are already competent swimmers. Not only will the program provide an opportunity for students to improve their physical fitness, enhance their water safety and build their confidence, but it will also help to improve their stroke skills and technique.

Learning to swim has a number of benefits, including:

  • Improving physical fitness - Swimming is a great form of exercise that helps build strength, endurance and flexibility.
  • Enhancing water safety - Knowing how to swim can reduce the risk of drowning and increase the likelihood of being safe around water.
  • Building confidence - Learning a new skill can be a great confidence booster, especially for children.
  • Providing a fun activity - Swimming is a great way to have fun, especially in the warmer months.

At Trafalgar Primary School, our goal is that by the end of Grade 6, all students will be able to swim 50m. This is a challenging target, but we believe that with the support of our experienced swimming teachers, the dedication of our students and the encouragment of students families it is achievable.

If you have any questions about the swimming program, please do not hesitate to contact the school. We look forward to seeing our students thrive in the water!
