Parent/Student - Teacher Interviews

Parent/Student Teacher interviews for all students will take place on Wednesday 6 April between 10.00 am – 6.30 pm. To enable more time for Parents/Carers to book interviews, regular timetabled periods will not run, however, all students are expected to attend the remote interviews, ideally with their parent/s or carers present.

Bookings are now open through Compass for you to book interviews with teachers. Bookings close at 5.00 pm Tuesday 5 April. If you encounter any problems logging into Compass, please contact the College Office on 9580 1184.

These interviews will be conducted remotely using Google Meets – the platform your child uses each day for remote learning. An invitation to join a video meeting will appear in your child’s school email account and they simply have to click on the invitation to join the scheduled parent teacher session. Parents who are unable to be at home during the day with their child can email their child’s teachers by 5.00 pm Monday 4 April and request a video meet invitation be sent to an alternative email address.

Parents must stick to their five minute slot for their appointments as we will not be able to cater for missed appointment slots or reschedule on the day.

Important notes to consider when booking interviews:

• Parents/carers of students in Years 7 and 8 will only be able to book one interview for Communication and Discovery teachers (i.e. not separate interviews for English and Humanities or Maths and Science) 
• You have access to Round 1 of the Semester One Progress Reports and previous end of Semester Report through Compass (on your smart phone by clicking the “open in browser” link). Please ensure you read these reports to guide your bookings. Teachers may have indicated that there are areas “requiring improvement”, if this is the case please ensure you make a booking to discuss your child’s progress and possible strategies to enable satisfactory completion.
• You can print a summary of your bookings from Compass for reference on the day. 

To make an interview booking:

1. Go to the website: https://mcsc-vic.compass.education/
2. Select 'Book Parent/Student Teacher Interviews' from the link on the Compass homepage, to the left of your child’s photograph.
3. Select the Event ‘Parent/Student Teacher Interviews (2022 Semester One Remote Parent Teacher Interviews) and click ‘My Bookings’
4. Follow the instructions in the how to book tutorial
5. When you have finished booking click ‘print preview’ and then ‘print bookings’
