Dear Parents and Friends,

Welcome to the last newsletter from me for this term. Next week, our Public Relations team will write up the newsletter. The team have done an amazing job taking up this initiative and completing the articles in their own time.

COVID UPDATE

The statement below comes from the MACS COVID-19 Vaccinations-Parents and Carers on School Sites Guidelines which came out on Wednesday 23 March.

“Parents, carers and other adult visitors attending a gathering at school, such as a fete, school play or other school ceremony, whether indoors or outdoors, need to show evidence of vaccination on arrival.”

This means for our Afternoon Tea, Cross Country and Assemblies we now need to sight your vaccination certificate even if the activity is outside.

As with everything COVID, things change quite regularly as you well know and I am trying to keep you updated with any changes a quickly as I can.

AFTER SCHOOL PLAY

It is lovely to see our families staying on after school to have a chat and a play but please remember we cannot play on the playground, ride our bikes or scooters in the school grounds and remember to use or safe hands and safe feet rule. Sometimes, when we are playing on the grassed area we are being a bit rough with each other. Parents it is your responsibility to watch your children and monitor this behaviour. Just remind them about our safe hands and safe feet rule. Thank you in advance.

YEAR 6 FAMILIES ENROLLING AT A GOVERNMENT SECONDARY SCHOOL

Families wishing to enrol your child in a Government Secondary School please take note of the procedures below - you will need  to:

  1. download the 'Placement Information Pack' (available Week 1, Term 2, 2022) or you can download the 'Application Form' (available Week 1, Term 2, 2022)
  2. use Find my School to locate your local secondary school or preferred school and read about how to choose a school that's right for your family
  3. complete the Application Form and return it to your preferred secondary school (date to be advised).

If your secondary school preferences include a school or schools, that is not your designated neighbourhood school, you should also read about school zones and how they work.

You will receive notification of your child's Year 7 placement in a government secondary school (date to be advised).

All government schools will host a Year 7 Orientation Day (for Year 6 students) – Contact your preferred school to enquire about Open Days.

Take care and stay safe.

Yours in partnership
