YEAR 8 CAMP

MS SAIGE OTTREY - STUDENT EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

The Year 8 students headed off on the long journey to Cape Bridgewater on 29th March for three nights. It is well worth the six hour drive just to see the incredible views as we pulled into the camp only metres from the main beach. We dropped our bags off and headed straight down to the water to stretch our legs and have a splash in the waves.

Over the next two days the students had days full of activities including surf lessons each day with the Go Surf Team, Seal Tours, Canoeing and Sandboarding. On Thursday the students were  faced with some cold and windy conditions however they were still out in the water trying to catch the perfect wave as well as climbing up the sandhills to race back down again.

Overall the camp was great fun the students enjoyed the night time beach walks as well as the games and disco run by Dave Daly. Thank you to all the staff who attended (Mr Joyce, Mr Howison, Mr Leary, Mr Scholtens, Dave Daly, Ms Crow, Ms Wright and Kathie Box).

The students should also be congratulated on their participation in all of the activities and the way they represented St Mary Mackillop College. Great work Year 8 Students!
