Year 8 News

Year 8 students have settled into Term 2.  Our focus for students is to be in uniform, arrive on time with all resources required and participate in all learning activities.

Year 8s at the Tech School

Year 8s visited the Gippsland Tech School on Friday 6th May.  Students were involved in sessions that helped them understand the purpose of secure passwords, protecting information online and being able to recognise and protect themselves against online threats.

Quotes from Students:

"Tech is great" Jadon    "We had new experiences " Claire

Year 8 camp to Karoonda Park

We are currently finalising arrangements for Year 8 camp.  We will be going to Karoonda Park, near Gelantipy from the 23 – 27th May.  We will be arranging camp meetings with students over the following week or so to ensure we are all organised and ready to go.

Today's Learning

Students who did not go to the Tech School excursion completed an assignment at school about Cyber Safety. Students collaborated, finding resources and information to help inform them about how to keep safe online. Students worked well on the project, sharing their new knowledge with the class at the end of the day.

“Keeping safe online is really important. It really makes you think before you do things. You never know who is reading your posts. People should be able to go on the internet and be safe and not get bullied” Riley Craddock.

“I didn’t know before how to protect my information online – it's important to keep safe” Martha Amrein.

“Sometimes when I’m online I witness a lot of anger and people arguing. I try to protect people who I see getting bullied online” Sam Curran.
