~ Do all that you do with love ~

Dear Parents and Friends of St Therese's Primary School,

The month of May for the Catholic Church is known as the month of Mary.  Mary, mother of Jesus, demonstrates unwavering faith and love as she tries to understand her son’s life journey. This week we celebrate the role of caregivers in our school community. Please read the information on the Deputy Principal page of this newsletter for information regarding the Mother's Day stall and morning tea occurring later this week.

Next week, the students in Years 3 and 5 will participate in NAPLAN. The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual national assessment for all students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 and is the only nationwide assessment that all Australian children undertake. Students are assessed in Reading, Grammar & Punctuation, Writing, Spelling, and Numeracy. This year all tests excluding Writing will be conducted online. If your child is feeling anxious about sitting these tests please speak to your child's classroom teacher who can reassure you and your child.

I have been informed that the shortlisting for the new Principal is occurring this week. There is a strong pool of applicants and interviews will take place next week. We should know who the new principal will be within the next fortnight. Once this has been determined we will be given a date for the transition of the new principal to St Therese's and myself to St Agatha's. I will keep you posted.

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing all significant carers at our Mother's Day celebrations on Friday.
