Assistant Principals Report

Compass is Introduced

At the start of this term we implemented our new online communication tool, Compass.  Compass is widely used by school communities across Australia.  Compass has been initially introduced to our school staff for marking class rolls, viewing a calendar of school events and news items, accessing whole school documents, booking school resources, writing and viewing wellbeing notes and sending text messages.   There are many more functions within the tool that we will be introducing over time.  Compass will further streamline and strengthen our communication across the school and soon to the wider school community.  We anticipate introducing it to our parents and carers before the end of the school year.  This will allow parents and carers another platform to access school news and events, communicate with school staff, and track their child’s attendance.

This year we have our first group of students involved in the Victorian State School Spectacular.  A group of our year 9-10 students have been working hard since the start of the year, learning a total of eight dances, which have been choreographed with a  high level of complexity.  The students have thrived on the challenge and have shown great competency, especially during combined school practises.  Our school community is very proud of our performers; Tenesha Rottura, Caitlin White, Cara LoPiccolo, Amee Heffernan, Maddison Cooke, William Briggs, Zac Patterson.  The Spectacular will be held at Hisense Arena on Saturday 10 September, with two shows at 1pm and 6.30pm.  To purchase tickets, visit www.ticketek.com.au  If you miss out on the opportunity to see the live show, the three-hour Spectacular will be filmed for broadcast by Channel 7.  We’ll let you know of the broadcast date when it becomes available.
