Positive Feedback

Every day I see the girls learning, achieving, going the extra yard and making all of our staff very proud to teach them.

The girls’ behaviour in public sets the standard for community perception of our school, a commuter emailed this message on Tuesday night:

To Ms Money,

I would like to commend you for the behaviour of some of your students on the number 75 tram this morning. I travelled (getting on at the Epworth Hospital heading to Hawthorn) on the tram with my 6 year old son, 4 and 2 year old daughters and a pram. Upon getting on the tram, 3 Melbourne Girls College students vacated their seats for us without hesitation and were so quick to get out of their seats, I hadn’t even thought that we would need them. The girls were very helpful in assisting me to manoeuvre the three children into the seats (again without being asked to and of their own accord). When thanked they were very humble and I had the distinct impression that they do this sort of thing all of the time. I only wish some adults would be so courteous on public transport!

You should be very proud that these lovely girls are representing your school. Best Regards”

School Council met on Tuesday night to discuss policy, finances and initiatives for the school. Two of the initiatives discussed were exploring a Space Camp in line with our Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics initiatives in 2016 and Celebration Day on 24th October from 12pm-4pm. Celebration Day will mark 21 successful years for Melbourne Girls’ College.

Finally, many thanks to Ms Kennedy and her Year 7 class for sharing their Reptile Encounters experience with me. The Saltwater crocodile, Smiley stole the limelight!
