VC Delights A Winner

A number of Year12 VCAL students were successful in winning an award from NAB and the Foundation for Young Australians.

NAB partnered with the Foundation for Young Australians to deliver $20 Boss, a $1 million program designed to equip Australian students from years 7-10 with the entrepreneurial and enterprising skills to set them up for the future.

As part of the program, VCAL students were given $20 each from NAB to start a business, either on their own or with fellow students. Our students used the money to start VC Delights.  We were successful in winning the Social Entrepreneurial Award. Congratulations to all students who were involved in the win.

Year 12 Orientation

Next year’s Year 12 VCAL class took part in a 3 day Orientation program on the 16th, 17th and 18th of November. Students were given a taste of what was ahead as they strive to meet Senior outcomes in all strands in 2016. Students took part in hands on activities designing house plans in Numeracy, presentations about themselves in Literacy, completing on line OHS modules in Work related skills and planning, designing and creating a children’s toy in PDS.

Year 11 Orientation

Welcome to our new VCAL students for 2016. During the 3 day orientation program students had the   opportunity to complete their online OHS modules, created their unique student number and looked at their individual interests to identify the types of occupations they may be suited to during work related skills. Literacy classes saw students looking at the outcomes for next year and identifying types of different writing forms. They also wrote their own auto biography. Personnel Development skills had students doing some team building exercises which had students up and about and students were able to show leadership and communication skills. They then went off to their VET orientation to meet their new teachers and class mates. Students have been asked to find a workplacement over the breaks.
