Congratulations Buttrose!!! House champions for 2018!!!

The title for House champions for 2019 goes to BUTTROSE! They took out the win with an      impressive win over the other houses. Congratulations to all Buttrose House members.

What a year it has been!!! Led by our teacher assistants and student House captains, we participated in a wide range of curricular and extra-curricular activities. A big thank you to the following students in Year 8: Hannah Whitfield, Vishal Gill, Aydin Vikic, Yashmeen Sidhu, Cindy Nguyen, Simar Singh, Leon Do and Lilian Ha. From Year 10; Linh Troung, Charlie Xiu, Louise Dang, Darren Tang, Aaron Tran Hoang, Iqra Siddique, Steven Hoang and Zoe Pavlides. Finally from Year 12; Mimi Nguyen, Thomas Lam, Gabriel Chan, Rachel Pinto, Monique Lu, Christian Solo, Jason Do and Stephanie Tikvic.

 

This year students from all year levels participated in camps, debating, Grade 6 evenings and taster days, excursions, Year 9 City experience, Fundraising activities, Student forums, a huge range of sports including Volleyball, futsal, badminton soccer, Athletics and swimming carnivals of course, Western Metro Athletics, table tennis, indoor rock climbing, rugby and our new Frisbee competition.

 

Student leadership and involvement in Earth hour, the Alpine school, life skills self-defence classes, canteen helpers, breakfast club, multicultural day, Refugee Week, Australian Mathematics Competition, SRC, VCAL initiatives,  Beacon, iTrack mentoring and Anzac day celebrations, Interact Club, Student Learning Action Team led by Mr D’aglas, and Science and  LOTE week.

 

Who could forget the Senior school soccer challenge when despite some though opposition the Year 11 team beat the Year 12’s with a score of 8 – 6.

 

The academic, creative and artistic spirit of our wonderful community also shone bright, with huge levels of participation in three very successful language and Slam poetry competitions and a clean sweep at the Australian Fashion Awards.

 

To add to this, many of our students performed in the outstanding musical Seussical, IDOHOT day, and were active volunteers for Youth Day, and RU OK? Day

 

Nominations for House captains for 2019 have commenced and nominees will be announced later in Term 4.

A big congratulations to the House coordinator for 2019, Ms Pajalic and helping her as assistants will be Ms Narasaki and Ms Marie.
