Middle School Report

As we approach the end of the year, Year 9 and 10 students will be undertaking their end of semester tests and exams. The students and their teachers have been busy with revision lessons and activities in class and students have been encouraged to study independently.

Year 9

Following the great success of the City Experience this year, Year 9 students ran an expo of their work on Thursday, 11 October. The students were enthusiastic and the standard of the students’ presentations was fantastic.  It was great to see the outcomes of the week’s excursion and listen to the students describing what they had learnt over the course of the program.

From 19 November, Year 9’s are sitting their end of semester tests in classtime. The students have undertaken this task with diligence and focus. There have been many students independently studying in the library after school and we commend these students for their hard work.

We are eagerly looking forward to the Year 9 Dance Celebration that will be held on Monday, 7 December. This is a fantastic opportunity for the students to showcase their talents and have fun with their peers.

After the last of the Year 9 classes, in week 10, all Year 9’s will be undertaking the ‘Step Up Program’. This is an opportunity for students to experience the work requirement of Year 10 and set themselves up for their learning for 2019. All students will be expected to take part and complete the holiday homework as required.

From 4 December, all Year 10 students will begin their transition into Year 11. This includes an opportunity to orientate themselves with their VCE or VCAL classes and teachers. They will be exposed to their learning requirements and given their holiday homework. This will place them in the best position to achieve success in 2019.

The Year 10 Formal is also approaching and students are reminded to bring in permission forms and payments as soon as possible. It will be held on Friday, 7 December at Ultima Function Centre in Keilor Park.
