Stage 3 Science Excursion

On Tuesday December 3rd, Year 5 and Year 6 travelled out to the LDC (Louis Dreyfus Company) Cotton Gin for a Science excursion to help us further develop our understandings of “Food, Fibre and Sustainability.” We were shown around the gin by Kev Chaplin. He explained the machinery and their sustainable practices both inside and outside of the Gin. We were lucky to be able to keep some cotton grown and ginned by LDC. Everyone enjoyed the day and learnt a lot more about cotton and where it comes from. Two people from each grade were chosen to receive an LDC bag because they asked impressive questions throughout the tour. The experience and knowledge gained will now help us with our science assessment.
