The Year 7 Italian Film Festival Excursion

Thursday 7th October

It was a pleasant Thursday morning as we all excitedly sat on the crowded buses that drove to Palace Cinemas Brighton, for a special screening of the Italian Film ‘La Befana Vien Di Notte- The Legend of the Christmas Witch’. Everyone’s bags were packed to the brim with snacks to eat. As we arrived it was a surprise to see the place was so small from the front, blending in with the suburban environment. Within the building was a lavish cinema, almost disguised as a theatre with velvet curtains, covering the screen we were to stare at for the next two hours. With everyone comfortable in their seats with snacks and popcorn, the curtains were drawn open, revealing a screen. Silence fell upon the cinema as we watched the movie, reading subtitles and trying to recognise the occasional Italian word or two. For a family Christmas movie, we were all pleasantly surprised, to be having a few laughs and being captured by the storyline. The overall experience was one that I’m sure we’ll all remember for years to come!
