State Schools' Athletics Finals

This year we had five individual athletes and two relays teams qualify to compete in the State Schools' Athletics Finals. It was a perfect day weather wise and our team achieved some amazing results.

Chloe Kinnersly – 17 Years Girls

1st 200m – 26.04secs

1st 400m – 59.32secs

Jace Murray – 15 Years Boys

1st Discus – 46.08m

1st Javelin – 43.71m

2nd Shot – 12.09m

Scott Peart – Open Boys

1st 1500m walk 6:42.92mins

Georgia Bodey and Ocean Bukoch ran solid races in strong fields in the 800m/1500m and 1500m/3000m respectively. Our 16 Years Girls also ran a solid race in the relay – very late in the day (Georgia Bodey, Imogen O’Brian, Zoe Burke, Allira May). Unfortunately our 17 Years Girls did not start due to illness. 

Qualifying for this event is an amazing achievement in itself and to have our students do so well was a terrific effort. Ballarat High School finished 17th overall out of 243 schools.
