Room 2

In room 2 we have been learning how to read and follow schedules to work independently.

We have also enjoyed going to the garden as part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program. We have been doing lots of jobs in the garden such as composting, mulching, digging and watering.

Room 11

Students in Room 11 have been building school pride and connectedness through reading. Last term students worked together to create picture story books and showcased their reading talents by visiting a range of prep classes to read their books to the students. They enjoyed this experience so much that we began a buddy reading program with Room 5. This program allows students to participate in a shared reading experience with a peer, building on their connectedness to the school and other students within it, as well as developing reading confidence and skills.

With a return to remote learning we hope to continue with this program once back at school. Other highlights over the term have included a fun house colours dress up day, where students dressed in their house colours and participated in some fun activities.

Room 20

All of our students look forward to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) Program sessions coordinated by Trish French. One week we’re in the garden; the next week in the kitchen.

In our last kitchen session, we made mini-frittatas with many of the ingredients coming from JSA’s garden. We all followed the recipe very carefully. They were delicious.
