National Science Week | August 15th-23rd

This year, National Science Week runs from August 15th to 23rd, with many activities running around the theme for 2020: Deep Blue: Innovations for the future of our oceans, and features the establishment of the Blue Economy Cooperative Research Centre.

With this in mind, the theme embraces the innovative technologies, capabilities and skills needed to achieve economic, environmental and social sustainability of our oceans. It features insights and inquiries into workable solutions that generate healthy oceans, healthy economies and healthy communities.

Students should keep an eye out for what may happen in your classes during this week. Year 7s can check out the Marine Team Virtual Newsletter below for inspiration!

There are also a range of online activities you can participate in, such as:

You can also try these activities at home:

Year 7 Family Fun Trivia | Friday, August 21st

All Year 7s are invited to attend Family Fun Trivia, a special event for students and their families to be held in Period 4 (1:48pm) on Friday, August 21st!

Trivia will be held instead of the scheduled Period 4 class, and is the perfect way to start the weekend! The session will run on an honesty policy - no google or looking up answers on the internet! And of course, there will be plenty of prizes for the winners!

Attendance for Period 4 will be taken from the attendance list during the trivia session. An answer sheet will be available on Teams on the day, and students will be given time to download this during Homegroup. See you at Trivia!

WHSC | 40th Birthday Celebrations

2020 marks the 40th birthday of Wheelers Hill Secondary College, and our past and present community are invited to help us celebrate this landmark anniversary.

In 2020, Wheelers Hill Secondary College turns 40 years young! Due to the ongoing restrictions on assembly caused by COVID-19, we're celebrating this historic occasion with several small events, released digitally, in order to keep our community safe. A larger birthday celebration is planned for 2021.

The first celebration event is the creation of a 40th Birthday Message Wall. By completing the form below, you can submit a personal birthday message to the College and have it featured on an interactive page on our website! We invite all students, teachers, and family members (past and present) to contribute a short message that sums up your feelings about Wheelers Hill. This can be a reflection on your time here, your favourite memory, best wishes for the future, or a funny story - whatever you like!
