In Year 1/2, we have settled in well to remote learning and we have enjoyed posting our work onto Seesaw. It has been great getting to see our classmates and teachers on Zoom and we have been enjoying our whole class and small group zoom sessions.

In reading, we are learning about the genre of information texts. These are non-fiction and we have loved learning and reading about living things so far. We read a text about orangutans and answered some questions about them.

We are also learning to write in the genre of information texts. We looked at the difference between fact and fiction by reading some silly sentences, and then we moved onto writing some factual and fictional sentences of our own.

In numeracy, we are learning about place value. We are exploring the different ways you can represent and use numbers.

In inquiry, we are learning about living things. We did a nature walk to explore and inquire about all of the exciting living things in the world around us. We also have begun to germinate seeds. We are going to record the changes that happen to the seeds over the next few weeks, so stay tuned to see our seeds grow and flourish. We are focusing on being inquirers as we inquire into the living things around us and learn new things about the wonderful organisms around us.
