Year 2/3UR Maths

This week in Maths during remote learning, the students in 2/3 UR looked at our topic on Transformation and Location in Geometry. They specifically learnt about flips, slides, and turns of an object. The students used the Chrome extension Kami to tackle their activities and maths problems. Students had to think about the change in location of various shapes or figures. Then they had to show what that change would look like. They learnt some new maths language as well such as, rotation, reflection, and translation and they learnt to revise some words from previous topics such as clockwise and anti-clockwise. Students had an opportunity to practise moving objects using materials they had at home first and then transferred that knowledge to the Kami documents on their computers. It was an exciting week of maths learning!

Christian- I learnt how to move shapes in different positions.

Gracelyn- I practised moving objects in whole turns and quarter turns.

Dylan- I thought it was fun to use materials from around my house.

Vincent- I loved to learn how to use Kami for Maths work!
