Extended School Day

One fun part about remote learning are all the programs students can access in Extended School Day.

With 18 programs to choose from, there is something for everyone!

One student who chose to participate in origami sent me through pictures of her work this week (picture is from Marija and her Mum's goldfish).

Students (and their families) can follow as many of the videos as they wish, over the week, with new programs coming out every Monday. Students can access these through the Extended School day website:

We ask our students to have lots of fun and keep those photos and videos coming to Mrs Baulch

These are the options for Extended School Day

Performing Arts

As we finish our second week of Performing arts at home, students have had a wonderful time, exploring the Performing Arts together at home, singing and creating music.

The P-2 children had lots of fun creating different versions of the song Pete the Cat, whilst also continuing to practicing many of their performing art skills. Pete has a great time changing his shoe colour as he stepped into different things. Great job everyone, I loved watching your responses.

The years 3 to 8 students have been entertaining themselves (and any nearby listeners) with 'Chrome Music Lab' for their remote learning session this week. Strange sounds to wake the dog, secret messages in playing voice recordings backwards, and turning your own drawing into music are all part of the activities on offer.

SEED Sport

Our wonderful SEED program, students, staff and coaches have again been hard at work to maintain their skill levels and fitness while we learn remotely.

It is terrific to have so much online from coaches and SEED staff who have made some great videos to support training.

In this example five minute activity using body contact.

And in this - the final part of training is always the cool down.

The best bit for us as staff though, is to see how the students respond. There is a great sense of achievement when they report back to teachers that they have undertaken the training.

Last words for this week is to encourage everyone to enjoy the latest SEED Podcast showcasing Stephen from VCAL and Stephen Wells from Geelong Cats!  Wide ranging topics of interest to all.

Well Done gentlemen.
