AWARE
PARENTING PROGRAM ON LINE
This is a little couch conversation session which you could register for. These sessions are always informative and if just one of the ideas works for you it would be well worth it.

Bethany Hero Competition
The annual Bethany promotion is to get kids to identify their Superhero!
This is always a wonderful opportunity for our kids to think about the great people who help and inspire them.
“NOT ALL SUPERHEROES WEAR CAPES”
From Monday 17 August– Friday 18 September, primary school aged children are encouraged to nominate their very own superhero by writing a story or poem, drawing pictures, using photographs or making a video entry to describe their special person, and enter them into the Bethany Superhero Awards competition.
There are great prizes to be won and everyone gets a certificate for participating.
Categories
Children have the ability to identify their superhero and nominate them in one of two categories – Family &Friends or Teachers or Coaches & Community.
- Family &Friends – Children can nominate people in this category who are relatives or friends that positively impact their lives by being caring role models.
- Teachers, Coaches & Community – Children can nominate influential teachers, sporting coaches or community leaders who they directly know and admire.
Prizes
To ensure all entries are judged fairly, nominations will be judged by a panel convened by Bethany and segmented into the following age groups:
- Prep - Grade 1
- • Grades 2 - 4
- • Grades 5 - 6
How to Submit Entries
- Children should use around 150 words or less and pictures (if they like) to complete their nomination. Nominations can be written in prose or as a poem – however the child interprets the tasks
- Video submissions less than 90 seconds will also be accepted
- Entry forms have been included in this pack and can also be downloaded from www.bethany.org.au.
- The forms need to be completed and signed by each child’s parent or guardian
- Firmly attach the completed entry form to the child’s nomination and return via post, send it to
Bethany Community Support, PO Box 324, North Geelong, Victoria, 3215
