From the Head of Sport

We would like to wish all MCA families the very best for the upcoming holidays. There is no doubt the recent term has been disruptive and mentally draining time for everyone and we all need a well-deserved break. It will not be long, however, until all of our boys are back training, playing and burning off the large amounts of energy we need them to.

This newsletter contains a lot of information regarding the first two weeks of Term 3. As we look to juggle many sports and commitments for the first time, it will be more important than ever to be organised. All boys will be inundated with meeting requests for different sport in the first week back and will need to organise a timetable for sport to keep on top of everything.

We hope all boys take the time to stay fit and practice their skills. It will be a whirlwind of a term when we return so you will need to be ready on Day 1. Have a great holiday!!

COVID SAFE PLANS

All AIC Colleges have worked hard to produce COVID safe plans for their venues that include information regarding drop off/pick up zones, points of entry and a schedule that indicates times to arrive and depart. We have released all current plans from AIC Colleges and these can be found in the COVID safe section of this newsletter.

Please see below for some important information from the AIC committee:

Spectators (or lack of) at sport for the start of term

A statement was released today from the AIC management committee regarding our return to sport. One of the most important aspects of this release was the information regarding spectators.

After consideration of health guidelines and the expectations required for a COVID Safe venue, there will be a limited number of adult spectators allowed into venues. Therefore, one parent will be able to attend as a spectator only in the Open Division games as it is recognised that this is the last season for Year 12 students. The First team games (last game) will also have some student spectators allowed to make up the full complement of spectators allowed in each venue.
No spectators will be allowed to enter the venues for all other games. Players are to arrive at the venue dressed to play, play their game and leave immediately following its conclusion.

Immediate exit from the venue is most important to enable appropriate COVID-19 cleaning procedures between games. It is vital that all adults adhere to these requirements for the safety and well-being of all attendees and the integrity of the AIC competition.

Therefore no parents will be allowed on our campus unless they are parents attending the Open matches and any other parents will be politely asked to leave.
