Tournament of Minds

Tournament of Minds 2020 is like no other. However, the Girton students and teachers are ready for this year to get underway and have a lot of fun along the way.

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, changes have been made to this year’s tournament.

The changes are as follows:

  • One competition for all, no regionals, states or internationals.
  • One super challenge comprising of all four disciplines; STEM, Language Literature, The Arts and Social Science.
  • There will be no spontaneous this year.
  • You will have 6 weeks, as usual, to work on your problem, but the performance is to be done in a 5 minute video, with no 3m square.

As a result of these changes, Girton has decided to only enter two senior and two junior teams. We hope to use this year for development on skills such as teamwork, creativity and problem solving, and even give previous TOM members an opportunity to see exactly what involved in other disciplines. The teams will work as hard as they can to achieve an outcome that we will all be proud of.

While this year may look very different for Tournament of Minds, the students and teachers are all very excited to get started and give it their best shot!
