Save the Date

We are very excited to be celebrating our 30th Anniversary as the John XXIII Rowing Club.  Please put 20 May 2023 into your calendars to save the date for this special occasion!  More details will be shared closer to the date.

South West Head of the River 24-25 March

The South West Head of the River is fast approaching! This fun regatta is held at the Bunbury Rowing Club, Cobblestone Drive, Bunbury on Saturday 25 March 2023.

Rowers and their families traditionally head down on Friday and stay overnight in Bunbury. There are many accommodation options in Bunbury, most families stay at The Lighthouse, The Mantra, or the Lord Forrest. If you haven’t made your accommodation arrangements, we suggest making them soon to avoid missing out as families from other schools also stay in Bunbury overnight.

Rowing family dinner – Friday 24 March

The Rowing Club Committee invites all rowers and their families to share a casual picnic dinner at the Bunbury Rowing Club at 6:30pm on Friday 24 March.  It is a ‘BYO everything event – food, drinks, picnic blankets, chairs, plates, cutlery and glasses.

Regatta

A BBQ breakfast will be provided from 6:30am on Saturday 25 March on the foreshore of the Bunbury Rowing Club. For those families intending to travel down on Saturday 25 March, you will need to be at the Bunbury Rowing Club no later than 7:00 am. The Regatta commences at 8am and finishes at approximately 1:30pm.

Boat unloading will now happen on the girls Monday (27 March) training session, 5:30am.

Rowing Wine Fundraiser

The John XXIII College Rowing Club is running a fundraiser this term in conjunction with Plantagenet Wines.

Established in 1992, the John XXIII College Rowing Club has developed many students into strong-minded, resilient, and committed individuals, with many going on to compete in state, national and international competitions. The Club is accessed by over 200 students each year, catering for rowers of all levels. We provide training and instruction by qualified coaches using the best equipment possible.

The Club is now aiming to raise funds to support the purchasing of new equipment.

We will be selling cases of the Lions Circle range at $200 per dozen. The minimum order is one dozen. Orders will need to be placed by COB Friday 7 April 2023. Orders will be delivered by 21 April 2023.

Orders are open to the whole College community and any friends of the College, so feel free to pass on the booking link.

The varietals on offer are:

  • 2022 Lions Circle Sauvignon Blanc
