F/1/2 News

The F/1/2 students have had another amazing two weeks of learning. We were also very excited to welcome Isaiah into our classroom.

In Maths, we have finished our number booklets. Each day we had been looking at a number, building up to 20, and how we could represent it. We have also finished our unit on position and movement. The students have been learning about how to follow directions, use positional language, and describe turns, flips and slides. We are now moving into our learning about chance. The students will spend the next few weeks discussing the likelihood of an event.

In Bluearth/Sport, we have started to prepare for the Interschool Athletics and the School Cross Country that is coming up in the last week of term. This will be the first time that the F-2 students have had the opportunity to participate in the Interschool Athletics Day. We have started learning about the different events that we will be participating in and have been working on Long Jump. All the students are practising running up to the line before they make their leap. We have also been working really hard on building our endurance for the Cross Country.

                               3/4 News

This fortnight the grade 3/4 class has been working on fractions. We enjoyed looking at numerators and denominators using a bag of skittles. Everyone’s favourite part was the end when they got to eat them!

We look forward to our fortnightly visit from Kade where he teaches us new and inclusive games.

We were lucky enough to have a lesson with Briana and Cindy. It was such an engaging and fun lesson putting together all the things the grade 3/4’s have learnt in Auslan.

We look forward to learning about our education Research Projects this coming week- we have been looking at the topic ‘belonging’ and will lead our own research in this topic.
