Swimming Carnival 

Despite some very dreary, wet weather, the 2023 MGSC house swimming carnival was a highly decorated and very exciting event. Students were dressed up in seas of blue, purple, green and yellow, showing off their house colours with immense pride. The highlight of the day was the incredible diving competition and the passionate house chants. Well done Melba for the winning chant as a proud Mackellar girl, I still think we were robbed! 

The year 12 house leaders had a ball in their traditional boat race, showing off some interesting tactics and their very competitive sides. Overall it was an incredible day, with the house points results ending up as:

1st - Mackellar

2nd - Jackson

3rd - Melba

4th - Kenny

Thank you to all the teachers who made the day possible, we all appreciate your hard work and dedication! 

Some stand out achievements from the day included:

Shylo Lothian (Year 11) creating a new record by 5.37 seconds for 16-18 years 4 x 50m individual medley

Mackellar 17 year old 4 x 50m freestyle relay team broke the record by 0.12 seconds

Well done to the above but also to all participants!

MGSC Cross Country is coming!

The second of our annual house events is fast approaching with MGSC’s Cross Country event scheduled for Thursday 6 April. This event will be held at school. Further information about processes and expectations will be distributed shortly. 

Round Robin reminder

A friendly reminder to all our Year 7 and 8 students of the upcoming round robin events. Students have been attending lunchtime trials and training sessions in preparation for these days. Thank you to our staff coaches who have included these lunchtime commitments into our already hectic days for our students.

The Year 8 round robin date is Tuesday 21 March followed by the Year 7 round robin on Monday 27 March with teams including Cricket, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball competing. Parents/Guardians are reminded to ensure that they follow the information contained in the emails that will be sent out to team members regarding consent and payment prior to the day of competition.
