Lawn Bowls

Two teams were sent to represent the school last week on a beautiful day down at the Colac Bowling Club. The students had a great time and were fantastic in their attitude and respect to others. Unfortunately, our A team fell just short of winning the competition, finishing in 2nd place.

Tennis

On Tuesday, a group of St Marys students travelled to the Colac Lawn Tennis Courts for the divisional tennis tournament. There was some fantastic tennis played. Jagger Ritchie, Percy Hanson, Freya Uytdehaag and Rachael Richardson all made it through to the finals. Percy Hanson was extremely unlucky to lose the semi final, going down in the last point of the game. An extra special mention goes to Rachael Richardson who won through to the girls final and will progress to the Greater Western tournament later in the year. We wish you all the best of luck.

Athletics

On Friday the 17th March, students from Grades 4-6 will be traveling to the Central Reserve to compete in the St Mary’s Athletics Trial Day. This event will determine which students will move on to represent the school in the Colac Divisional Athletics Carnival later in the term.

Students must wear school sports uniform and take with them drinks, snacks, food for the day and a hat. Students will be competing in the 100m, 800m, hurdles, discus, shot put, high jump, long jump and triple jump. We will be leaving by bus at 9:15am from St Mary’s and returning to school around 1:30pm-2:00pm.

Parents are welcome to attend the event at the Central Reserve and must notify a teacher if you would like to pick up your child from the Central Reserve.
