Hello BPS Community! Welcome to our nine-week term! How were your school holidays? Did you get a break and some time to rest and recharge? I hope you and your family enjoyed a restful break doing some things that lifted your spirits.
Over the holidays I managed to do some hiking with our family and beautiful dog, Billie, and we all loved it! We hiked in the You Yangs National Park near Geelong and were able to take Billie on our walk, which was awesome! We walked for 1.5 hours hopping up and down rocks and taking in the gorgeous scenery! Nature and the outdoors is my happy place. It breathes life into my soul and refreshes me. I feel like I've been given a real cleanse after a day out amongst the trees! We also walked a few hours in Olinda, in the Dandenongs, which was so beautiful amongst the autumn colours! Billie even found a lake to swim in!! She loves water and first learnt to swim in Bright two summer holidays ago. Now we can't keep her out of the water!!!
After delaying our House Cross Country due to wet weather it was ultimately a great decision because we had an amazing day all round on the back-up day! Thanks so much to all our amazing volunteers who helped on the day and to our House Captains who were amazing supporting our students! Thank you also to our awesome staff who played their role for the day and to Mrs Fountain and Miss Wood, who arrived with me to set up at school before sunrise!!!
Congratulations to all our runners who gave such a big effort and to the amazing encouragement all round!
Well done to Tasman House who took out the honours as our winning house for 2023, followed by Sturt, Cook and Dampier.

Congratulations to our athletes who placed in the top 10 in their 2km and 3km Championship Race and have been selected in our 2023 BPS District Cross Country team scheduled for Wednesday 10th May at Ruffey Lake, Doncaster!
