Project Better Places - Seabrook & Altona Meadows

Better Places is a new way that Council designs and delivers projects, thinking in terms of overall ‘places’ rather than individual ‘pieces’.

To create a great place, you have to think about the place as a whole, understanding and enhancing the things that make it special and knowing the elements needed to make better places into the future.

The success of Better Places is actively involving the community to help shape the places they live and visit. Feedback and ideas gathered during multiple stages of community consultation informs the development of a ‘Place Guide’ that includes practical on the ground projects and initiatives the community have asked for, want and need.

After several months of research and involvement from the community, we have drafted six projects for Seabrook & Altona Meadows that respond to feedback received.

Check out the six DRAFT projects and tell us what you think at https://participate.hobsonsbay.vic.gov.au/bpsam.  Feedback closes Saturday 15 April 2023.

Everyone Belongs at Queen of Peace

At Queen of Peace we embrace diversity and inclusiveness.  Celebrating these special days helps to bring not only our school community together, but also our fellow Australians. Did you know that Australia now consists of 270 difference ethnic groups! Thankyou to everyone for getting involved in the celebrations.  Its always fun in the office but the ladies had extra fun dressing up in orange too! (Mrs St Leon doesn't work Fridays or she would have been in bright orange too!)

A New Queen of Peace Baby

We would like to congratulate Jess and Lucas Mangani on the birth of their beautiful boy Matteo Alessio Mangani.  He was born on the 18th March and all are doing very well.  We would like to welcome little Matteo to our Queen of Peace community. Looking forward to meeting him and getting a cuddle soon.

Performing Arts

This term in Performing Arts our QOP students have been building their confidence and acting skills by exploring a variety of drama games and performing their own plays and skits to each other. It has been wonderful to see so many students using their imaginations and storytelling skills. Watching some of our senior students showcase their acting talents at our assemblies has been really rewarding! During the term we also had a visit from Stomp Dance Co and were lucky enough to have the fabulous dance instructor ‘Kira’ teach some high energy Hip Hop routines to our students. The day was a lot of fun and we certainly saw some very cool dance moves from our students and even some of our teachers!

Reminder from the Office

If children are to be picked up before the end of school (for medical or dental appointments etc) parents should advise the teacher via Seesaw. Parents should report to the office and sign their child out on the iPad and the child will be called to the office. **To avoid disruption to classes could you please pick up your child  at the end of a learning session i.e. 10:50am or 1:40pm. It is the school’s preference that all appointments are made after school hours or during school holidays where possible.
