From the Principal

Dear Parents & Carers

Term 1 at Queen of Peace has been nothing short of eventful and exciting for our school community! From sports carnivals and family nights to icy poles and buddy programs, our students have had ample opportunities to showcase their talents and passions and build friendships amongst their peers.

We are incredibly proud of our students' and their commitment to their academic and extracurricular pursuits.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our staff, volunteers, and parents for their unwavering support and encouragement. Without your help, these events would not have been possible.

Congratulations to all our students who participated in the swim carnival! Your hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship were truly outstanding.

It was inspiring to see our students give their all in every race, cheering each other on and demonstrating the true spirit of our school community. Whether it was your first time competing or you were a seasoned swimmer, your efforts did not go unnoticed.

We are proud of every single one of you for representing our school with pride and excellence. Your achievements are a testament to your commitment and determination.

Thank you to our Mr Stephen and volunteers who helped make the carnival a success. We are grateful for your support and enthusiasm.

Congratulations again to all our swimmers on a job well done!

Clean up Australia Day

On Friday March 10, all students participated in Clean Up Australia Day. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for actively participating in the Clean Up Australia Day events and to Mr Carlisle for organising the day. Your dedication and commitment to making our environment cleaner and safer for everyone is truly commendable.

Together, we collected an impressive amount of litter and rubbish from our school and surrounding areas. Your hard work and enthusiasm have helped us create a cleaner and healthier environment for ourselves and future generations.

I hope this experience has taught you the importance of taking care of our planet and inspired you to continue making positive changes in your everyday lives.

Once again, thank you for your efforts in making Clean Up Australia Day a success. Let's continue to work together towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.

Prep & Year 6 Buddies

The excitement of the prep and Year 6 buddy program is truly wonderful! Seeing the enthusiasm of our youngest students as they walk hand-in-hand with their "big kid" buddies is heart-warming.

The buddy program not only helps our preps feel comfortable and secure in their new school environment, but it also provides our year 6 students with valuable leadership and mentoring opportunities.

It's incredible to see how quickly this pairing creates bonds over shared interests and experiences. From playing games on the playground to activities in each other's classrooms, the buddies make the most of their time together and create lasting memories.

The buddy program is truly a special part of our school community and we look forward to seeing the friendships and learning opportunities that will continue to flourish throughout this year.

STEM Family Night

On behalf of our school, I would like to extend a warm thank you to all the families who participated in our recent STEM Family Night activities. It was a pleasure to see so many families come together to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We had over 160 families and close to 500 people in attendance. What an effort!

The night was filled with engaging and hands-on activities that encouraged our students to think creatively, problem-solve, and explore new ideas. We hope that this event sparked a love for STEM subjects and inspired our students to pursue these fields in the future.

Thank you to our dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to make this night a success, especially Mrs Josie Kirby and Mr Cameron Menadue. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

We hope that our families had as much fun as we did and we look forward to hosting more exciting events in the future!

Holy Week

As we approach Holy Week, let us take a moment to reflect on the meaning of this important time in the Christian calendar. This is a time to remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for us on the cross and to renew our faith and commitment to living a life that honours him. Let us also take time to reach out to those who are in need, to forgive those who have wronged us, and to show love and compassion to all those around us. May this Holy Week be a time of spiritual renewal and transformation for all of us.

Next Thursday, April 6, the whole school community will go to the ‘100 Steps’ where the Year 6 students will re-enact and tell the story of Holy Week and the Stations of the Cross. This is a very important and spiritual time for our school community. We hope that many families will be able to join us.

School will finish at 1.30pm on Thursday. I wish you and your family a very blessed Easter and a restful break with many learning opportunities for all. Happy Easter!
