The Arrowsmith Program
A warm welcome to new and current families in the Arrowsmith Program. The Arrowsmith staff and I look forward to working with you in 2023. In particular, we look forward to the close partnerships we develop with families as we work together to grow and develop the students.
My time teaching in the classroom has enabled me to observe existing students slotting back into a comfortable working rhythm, and watch the new students undertake new cognitive exercise in a different learning environment. Staff have worked hard to ensure student timetables are succinct and are balanced with Arrowsmith exercises and mainstream subjects.
The Arrowsmith team in 2023 consists of; Wayne Stagg, Head of Arrowsmith and Arrowsmith teacher, Helen Gilinas, Arrowsmith teacher, Dora Papadakis, Arrowsmith teacher, Nathan Neilson, Arrowsmith teacher and tutor for Arrowsmith students, Maria Katseli, Arrowsmith assistant and Holly Fox, Arrowsmith assistant. Holly is new to our school and program after teaching Arrowsmith in New Zealand.
On Monday 13 February, we held our Arrowsmith Information night. It was wonderful to see so many parents attend the evening. Whilst the online information sessions during Melbourne’s lockdown were necessary and still informative, nothing compares to face-to-face presentations. It enabled parents to absorb information from the Arrowsmith and Middle School information nights and ask pertinent questions regarding their child’s education.
It has been wonderful to see students involved in the life of the school. From Arrowsmith and mainstream subjects, excursions, sporting days and assemblies, all activities help students to feel a sense of connection and belonging to the school. We are all looking forward to a wonderful 2023.
Mr Wayne Stagg
Head of the Arrowsmith Program
