House Points
Students at TSC are awarded house points for demonstrating our college values either in class or in the yard.
Our college values are:
Integrity – Being honest, ethical and transparent
Innovation – Applying knowledge and skills in new and creative ways
Focus – Pursuing your chosen pathways and goals
They can also be awarded house points for academic achievement or improvement. All students are encouraged to always give their best, and go above and beyond to earn point for their house.
House point totals for Week 2:
- Chirnside – 130
- Gillard – 227
- Penrose - 60
- Barak - 226
ATTENDANCE: Why it’s important!
We all want our students to get a great education, and the building blocks for a great education begin with students coming to school each and every day.
Students develop good habits by going to school everyday – habits that are necessary to succeed after school, whether in the workplace or in further study. Missing school can have a big impact on students academically and socially. It can affect their test results, including VCE & VCAL, and, just as importantly, it can affect their relationships with other students, and lead to social isolation.
There is no safe number of days for missing school – each day a student misses puts them behind, and can affect their educational outcomes. Each missed day is associated with falling behind in subject topics and assessment tasks, and lead to fewer subject choices and may impact on achievement in years 11 and 12 and post-school pathways.
Uniform
All students should now be wearing full school uniform. A reminder that students may wear any full black shoe as part of the school uniform. It is important to note that full black does not mean brand logos or soles are coloured.
This year we have seen the introduction of the TSC puffer jacket and vest which a large number of our students are currently wearing. Hoodies are not allowed to be worn by any student, even if a note comes from home.
Year 12 Jackets have arrived- students who are yet to collect these may do so at their House Offices during breaks.
If anyone needs support with uniform, please talk to the Wellbeing Team, a Year Level Coordinator or a Pastoral Care teacher.
