Kitchen Garden

Our new garden is complete and was officially opened by Sarah Connolly MP.

Students across years 2 to 6 have enjoyed spending time learning about our new fruit trees, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. We have been learning about the purposes of gardening tools and how to use them safely, from pitchforks to secateurs, students have impressed with their enthusiasm and desire for knowledge.

I have decided to include a monthly planting guide for families to support the transition of skills of students from school to home and community. It will include a list of what to plant for each month (fruit, vegetables, herbs…) and some planting tips.

Vegetables you may like to plant include:

  • Asian Greens (Bok Choi, Pak Choi…), Broad (Fava) beans, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage,  Garlic, Kale, Lettuce, Onion, Peas, Radish, Spinach, Spring Onion, Turnip.
