Year 9 Outdoor Education Excursion - Rock Climbing

Students from Year 9 Outdoor Education 9OE4D and 9OE5B had their second and final rock climbing sessions at Hardrock Pty Ltd in the CBD this week.

Top Roping requires both a climber and a belayer. Whilst the climber ascends the route, the belayer manages the rope to keep the climber safe. The CBD venue has over 40 top rope "walls" (ranging from 5 to 16 meters high). Each wall has multiple different "routes", meaning each venue has over 100 routes to try, ranging from very easy to extremely hard. The OE students challenged themselves on many different climbing routes and heights and improved greatly over the two sessions! Well-done Year 9 Outdoor Ed!
