Big Design Day 2021

A small group of Year 9 students attended the Big Design Day at The Gordon late last term. They had the chance to participate and get a taste and feel for some of The Gordon’s design related courses that are on offer for post-secondary schooling. Students were able to select from a variety of practical activities, that being Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Specialist Make-up and Interior Design. Graphic Design offered a hands on approach without using a computer. Students could make a magnet and booklet using black and white designs and coloured stamps. In Visual Arts, students got the opportunity to be creative, draw and style an object out of wire. The Specialist Make-up, looked entertaining and fun, where they learnt how to create bumps, scars and blood in the class. During the Interior Design session, students created their own 'on trend' mood board, using textures and colours that influence their everyday life. All students had a wonderful time interacting and making some very unique and interesting pieces with other students around the Geelong region.
