Miss Collins’ Year 8 Science class has been having fun testing their design skills this week. As a part of the Energy and Science Skills theme for the Term, they were asked to design and build a toy car that would only be powered by the elastic potential energy of one rubber band. Paddle pop sticks, straws, bottle caps, pipe cleaners, CD’s, cotton reels, wooden skewers and Lego all made appearances in the different toy car designs devised by the students. The winning average distance of 430cm from one rubber band was very impressive!
