Tess (Learning Leader)

Hi I'm Tess and I am one of the learning leaders! I love to dance, sing, act and hang out with my friends. I also love cats, and I am getting my first ever kitten for my birthday in a couple of weeks! I also get really excited, really easily so I will be very excited to take on any challenges as a learning leader. I also love Disney and my favourite Disney movie is Inside Out. In school, I love buddy time and hanging out with my buddy Ovie. My favourite subjects at school are music, reading and writing. If i could describe myself in two words it would be creative and determined. Hope to see you around!

Memphis (Learning Leader)

Hi, My name is Mem and I am one of your Learning Leaders for 2021. My motto for 2021 is "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think". So i am ready for any challenges that I face. I love to play sports and hang out with my friends. My absolute favourite thing to do is nippers. I am in the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club and I really like being apart of it. I also play footy for the Collendina Cobras and netball for Ocean Grove. I have a sister and she is in year 4 . I have a brown Labrador name Odie and he is 2 years old. He is a bit excitable. When I grow up I want to be a professional Surf Lifesaver like Lizzie Welborn. Keep an eye out for when the school band performs.                                                      I would love to see you all there.

Carly Eddy (Year 6 Teacher)

I’m Carly and the kids call me Mrs Eddy. I started here at Ocean Grove last year and teach Grade 6.

My husband Nick and I have two boys. Our youngest, Colbert started school this year and Sullivan, turns 8 next week, so there are 3 of us Eddy’s at school.

I enjoy watching The Amazing Race and turn up the volume when I hear Powder finger and Foo Fighters.

I’m proud to be part of the local community and if your family is into weekend sports, no doubt we’ll run into each other soon.

Ryan Baltetsch (Year 1 Teacher)

Hi everyone, for those of you who do not know me my name is Ryan Baltetsch and I am the Learning Specialist (Literacy) at Ocean Grove Primary School. I have taught at OGPS since 2006 and have worked in every year level …. Except Foundation! I feel very fortunate to work and live in such a fantastic town.

Just like most of the male staff here at OGPS, I am batting well above my average with my lovely wife Katie. She also works as a Primary School Teacher at Grovedale Primary School in Geelong. Together Katie and I have two children (Noah and Isla). Noah is a Prep this year at our school and Isla is currently at 3 year old kinder.

This year I am learning a new skill…. We have recently purchased a caravan (my kids have nicknamed it Vivi) and I have been busy learning to reverse it. I am getting better at it and I often think of our school motto “Mistakes are welcome because they help us learn!” If you have any great tips for reversing a caravan feel free to pass the on to me.

Here is my family eating dinner on our first night camping in Vivi.

When not at school I love to go on holidays, spend time with my family, surf, watch the cats and play with Humphrey (our naughty Schnoodle).

Fun Fact: Humphrey came to visit at school one day for Book Week (he looks like Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy). I had to take him home at recess time in disgrace as he… wait for it … did a poo and wee in the staffroom! He has never been back to school since.
