Principal Update

The end of the school term has arrived. Whilst it has only been 9 weeks of classes, it has been a full term with many interesting and engaging tasks being completed. Our students have explored many topics in their classes, and have demonstrated a growing enthusiasm for learning. It has been great to see the students in their classes and listen to them talk about their learning.

We have also had plenty of opportunities for some parent interaction and communication; with some open classrooms, Teddy Bear Picnic, and we had a great turn out for our Secondary Student Parent-Teacher afternoon where teachers and parents were able to discuss Term 1 Progress reports for secondary students.

We are very pleased to announce that we have a recommended applicant for our Permanent Maths teaching position and also for our Gardener. We would like to thank Thanigai Arasu Shanmuga Sundaram (Mr Shan) for helping us out during Term 1. He has been here as part of the Department of Education Flying Squad and has thoroughly loved working with our school and getting to know the community.

We are also very sad to be saying goodbye to Mr Baltovich. Due to some changes at Merredin College, Mr Baltovich has been asked to return to take on a senior role. This is a great opportunity and he was very hesitant to accept as he has loved his role with us and the school. Mr Baltovich will be with us for Week 1, for a smooth transition into Term 2. I know we will all wish him the best for this new undertaking.

For all of our families who are travelling, stay safe and remember to spend some quality time with each other.

Kind regards,

Bruce Gibson
