Easter in the Alice

The Easter weekend was nothing short of madness!

Easter in the Alice meant returning back to a more social experience from pre COVID.

2019 saw CARR run this as a Strava challenge but let's face it, it is much better in person.

Following three days of racing we had some very success full results with Old Saint, Henry Hackett (Class of 2020) finishing 1st on the final stage. Henry managed to come second overall to the current U23 National Champion Sam Fox with Owen Chenhall in 3rd and Tom Stockwell in 4th overall. As far as junior racing goes these three are up there and mixing it up with some current champions. These successes have been a small part of countless hours spent on the bike each week over several years. These students have had their eyes set on this race as one of their major goals for 2021 and have ASPIRED beyond all expectations. Well done to them all.

Other SPC students racing in the full distance were Michael Harrison, Connor Hestor and Caleb Thornton who raced over 115kms during the three days. Unfortunately, Caleb required some stiches on the first stage but returned for the next two stages.

In the Midi race we had Liam (3rd overall) and Ethan Henderson (1st place overall) duking it out for the top spot. Staff also buried themselves during the event and Tim Schofield entered racing on a College bike and came 8th in the Midi while Stacey Gill came 5th in the Women's.

A number of racers also competed in Round 1 of the HutSix BMX NT Championships on the Saturday night with Dave Atkins and Caleb Thornton on the podium for the MTB Category.

Fun racing and Aspirational efforts from all.
