Principal’s Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week we are launching the school-wide implementation of the Living Well, Learning Well practices at Sacred Heart. This is a cornerstone of our School Improvement Plan in developing a positive school climate for everyone at Sacred Heart. From the survey responses collected from staff, students and families in Term 1, we have devised our Goals for Living and Learning Well at Sacred Heart. These goals are categorised into three sections; We are Respected, We are Safe, We are Learners. Each week, the staff and students will unpack a Core Value that relates to one of these categories at the Monday morning assembly with a focus on demonstrating that Core Value in all that we do throughout the week.
There will be visuals around the school to help remind us of our Core Value for the week, including naming the value on the school sign. We are also expecting delivery of our new Value Totems this Wednesday (weather permitting) which will be placed on our front lawn as a further reminder of our Goals for Living and Learning Well.
You can support us at home by talking over the Core Value of the week with your children and asking them what the value means to them. At each Friday assembly, there will be a special award presented to a student that staff have identified through the week demonstrating our Core Value. This week's Core Value is Demonstrate Leadership. (Please click the attachment for the student's responses.
This Thursday is our chance to thank and celebrate the special women in our lives with a Mother's Day Breakfast. All mums, grandmas, aunties and nannas are warmly invited to our breakfast from 8.00am. Please contact the office to RSVP for catering purposes by Tuesday 4 May.
A special mention to Ms Karen Slack-Smith (IT) who celebrates her 21st birthday on Tuesday 4th May. We hope you enjoy your special day!
I hope you have a great week!
