Epilepsy Education

Last Wednesday afternoon at the close of the school day,  our staff completed a training session on Epilepsy and the giving of emergency medication for seizures.  Through Epilepsy Action Australia our staff first completed an online module and then two hours of face to face training which concluded with an assessment and certificate.  Louise Niklaus, a registered nurse and qualified trainer in Epilepsy, First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma ran the session and feedback from staff was very positive.  Ongoing training and education by all staff at Belmore School is highly valued and essential in keeping the Belmore community a safe environment for all. 

Thanks to the generosity of our Belmore School community, our purple day fundraiser raised a total of $120.  We know this money will be put to good use to support members of our community living with epilepsy.
