Co-curricular - Junior Sport

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope that everyone was able to have a joyous Easter and found some time to rest, relax and spend time with family. We have hit the ground running with the first winter training sessions occurring on Monday, and all teams having their second session across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

A reminder about departure from the College after the conclusion of training sessions.  All boys being picked up after training should be collected from the kiss and drop area on Fraser Street. Boys catching public transport or walking will need to change into their supporter’s polo shirt (the black polo), black crested shorts, white socks and runners. The College tracksuit (jacket and pants) should be worn if it is cold. Failing this, boys must change back into their College uniform and blazer.

With the winter season starting on Saturday 24 April, I encourage all boys and parents/carers to sign up to the Team App. This will allow you to receive up to date draws and notifications on training and game cancellations. Please ensure you have sent the access request, otherwise notifications will not work.

When visiting host schools, please follow the guidelines at each venue and abide by any reasonable request from staff at these venues. Please ensure you scan QR codes or sign in as requested at the venue. The College will have QR codes at each of our grounds for you to check in. At this stage, there are no restrictions on spectators other than scanning QR codes and maintaining a distance of 1.5 metres. Please make sure you vacate all venues as soon as your son’s game has concluded.

Congratulations to Vincent Papalardo (Year 6). Vincent competed in the NSW Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) Diving Competition at the end of Term 1. He achieved third place in both his Springboard and Platform Diving events. This gained him selection into the NSW team. This is an outstanding performance from Vincent who then competed at the Australian Age Diving Championships in Brisbane during the school holidays. Vincent came first in the 11/U Platform, fourth in the U/11 3 Metre Springboard, and fifth in the U/11 1 Metre Springboard. These are outstanding performances from Vincent. The College congratulates him on his exceptional achievements and acknowledges his hard work and commitment to attain these results.

It is exciting to be returning to the paddock with, hopefully, the worst of the restrictions behind us. I wish all the boys and their coaches the best of luck. Boys, when you pull on the black jersey, remember to play hard, play fair, but most of all, have fun.
