PDHPE

It is been a busy start to the school year in PDHPE. It has been great to see the enthusiasm and positive approach to learning that has been displayed across all year groups so far.
Students in Years 7-10 are currently studying units based around Self and Relationships in Theory lessons, whilst in Practical Lessons they are participating and performing movement skills in a variety of activities, including Athletics, Volleyball, Initiation games and Softcrosse.
Many students at the College have once again chosen to study elective subjects within the PDHPE Key Learning Area. These students will participate in interest electives such as Fishing, Outdoor Education, Duke of Ed activities and Bootcamp as part of their Year 9 learning.
Our Year 11 and Year 12 students have begun their Senior study in PDHPE, Community and Family Studies and Sport, Life and Recreation. We wish them every success this year in their studies.
For Year 7 students starting at the College this year, it can be quite a transition from Primary School with students now having 8 PDHPE lessons every fortnight. It has been great to see so many Year 7 students adapt quickly to the challenges of High School and be organised and prepared to participate in every learning opportunity.
Here is a snapshot of a few students in action so far this year.
A few reminders to all parents and students of the requirements of uniform for practical lessons.
- Students are required to change into their full College Sports uniform each lesson to safely and competently participate in each outdoor lesson.
- It is also a requirement of the College that all students leave the college in the full school uniform at the completion of each day except for Fridays. This also includes when students may have a practical lesson scheduled for the last lesson of the day.
- As a college we take pride in the uniform expectations of each student and believe that when student’s leave the college in their full and correct school uniform that this is the best advertisement and projection of College expectations.
