PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome to our first newsletter for the school year!

It is so good to have our students and staff back at school!

The beginning of the year has gone smoothly, despite COVID, and we have not had as many cases as originally expected and planned for.

Thanks everyone for your assistance, cooperation and flexibility in the ever-changing arrangements and schedules of school life in COVID.

Globally and politically our climate is also unknown with changing laws and societal expectations that sometimes clash with our faith. St Andrews Christian College will continue to stand strong proclaiming Jesus as Lord! We want our students to know God, have a personal faith with Jesus; and, know their purpose in His kingdom.

Christian Education – an education that is built on Christ is vital for our children. At St Andrews Christian College, our focus is excellence in Christ, where we provide a holistic education that prepares students to be effective and productive members of their community.

For God’s glory, we need to be the best school we can be for the Lord and we want our students to be their best for God! From an eternal perspective, we all must remember that it is not what our children become or what they do in life that is important. Their personal relationship with Jesus and becoming a believer is what trumps everything and is what will help them more in life than anything else.

All our human efforts, accomplishments, careers, loving the unlovable; even living selfless lives and following all God’s laws will not get us into heaven. The only way to assurance in heaven is through faith and trust in Jesus.

A genuine faith leads believers to grow in Christ. It is Christ who gives believers the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him.

Christ enlightens the eyes of their hearts that they may also know the hope to which they have been called; the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints; and, the immeasurable greatness of His power toward believers. – Ephesians 1:18-19

Because of our focus in being a strong Christian school, I believe that we have been and will continue to be a target for the media, in our increasingly secularised world. Being in a hostile world is not new for God’s people. Jesus suffered, was crucified and buried and He calls us to a life of witness to Him, to share in suffering but also share in His glory.

We need to remain faithful and consistent in our calling as Christian educators and parents and it is much easier to do this as God intended, together in community.

I am not strong or courageous, but the God who lives in me is!

It is only in Him can we all stand strong and firm to what God has called each of us to do, all for His purpose and for His glory!

Please join me in praying for all our College community the beautiful prayer from Colossians 1:9-12:

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light”.

Abundant blessings on your year!
